As delicate as the issues of the ‘misunderstood’ villains can be. Certainly in a society which may arguably be reactionary to particularly unfortunate people, I always find that the mentally unhealthy villains, even some of the most dangerous like Annie Wilkes, can cause a very serious stigma. And speaking as someone who has struggled with mental health issues and who has befriend others with similar struggles, it has greatly influenced how few of these psycho thrillers are on my re-watch list. In my view, to have an undeniably evil villain is to sufficiently signify how much choice and responsibility that villain may have over his or her own actions. The good-guys-in-disguise notion may crop up more in retrospect because of how much wiser we are now in our WordPress reviews and comments. And we can all agree that it at least makes our villains in our TV shows and movies consequently more interesting. So thanks for sharing this video.
