We love sci fi here at the Time Warriors (you might have noticed) so it’s with great delight we bring to you a cracking sci fi short film by a friend of ours, the very talented Nigel O’Brien. Nigel is a writer, director, producer and well known in the business. he lives in Galway and is always working on his latest project.
Inspired by Monty Python and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy called “Visitors” was made as part of the Shot by the Sea film festival challenge 2020 and was screened online during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Nigel tells us, ‘The Shot by the Sea film festival is a local film challenge established in 2019 by Galway based filmmakers Teresa Lavina Liza Bolton and Nigel Gilhooly. The idea was for filmmakers to write/shoot and edit and short film, documentary or
animation in the month of March and have it ready to screen at the festival in April. The only rule was you had to shoot your film somewhere between Kinvara and Spiddle County Galway. so that gives you about 50 km’s of coastline to shoot.
Our result was a homage to Monty Python and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. What if Aliens arrived on Earth and could see the damage we had done to our planet. and what would they do about it. No spoilers, you’ll just have to watch the film.
